CMDS Undergraduate Research
Each year, several Truman CMDS majors participate in individual or group
projects that are presented at the annual
Truman Student Research Conference or other
professional venues such as the convention of the Missouri
Speech-Language-Hearing Association.

There are 3 primary ways that communication disorders majors pursue these
opportunities:
- Top Secret Research Group
This volunteer student research group explores the use of new technologies
in communication disorders with Dr. Cochran.
- McNair Scholars program
Qualified students apply for this multi-year opportunity to work closely
with a faculty member and prepare for future graduate study.
- Truman Undergraduate Research Stipends
In collaboration with a faculty member, students submit competitive
proposals for financial support for their research projects.
