The Truman Speech and Hearing Clinic primarily serves clients from the Kirksville area and university community. However, because such services are scarce in our region, the Clinic draws clients from a 100 mile radius that includes the larger community of northeast Missouri and the southern edge of Iowa.
For 2004-05, the Clinic provided screening, assessment, or rehabilitation services to 1021 people, 80% of whom were children. The Clinic serves all ages, at no cost to individual clients. Faculty and students from the Clinic collaborate with local Head Start programs, Early Head Start, hospitals, and school systems throughout the region. We frequently accept referrals from local physicians, Parents as Teachers, schools, clinicians in private practice, and local group homes.
Operation of the Clinic is costly. If you care to make a monetary donation to
the Clinic, then please
contact us
