John A. Applegate, Ph.D., CCC-SLP (emeritus)

Dr. John Applegate retired as the director of the Communication Disorders program at Truman State University in August, 2004. Dr. Applegate had been at Truman since 1980, and specialized in voice and fluency. He had specialty certification from ASHA in fluency.

Dr. Applegate plans to live in the Kirksville area and do a lot of camping and travelling.

Dr. Applegate received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Speech from Muskingum College, a Master of Arts in Speech Pathology from Ohio University, and a Doctorate of Philosophy from Kent State University. Dr. Applegate served on the Executive Board of the Missouri Speech- Language- Hearing Association for several years, and in 2004 received the prestigious Honors of the Association.
