Carlton DeFosse, Ph.D., CCC-A/SP

Dr. Carl DeFosse retired from the Truman faculty in May, 2006.

He joined the faculty in communication disorders in the fall of 2001. Although dual-certified, Dr. DeFosse's primary teaching and clinical interests and responsibilities were in the area of audiology. He taught undergraduate and graduate courses in audiology, aural rehabilitation, anatomy, and speech and hearing science. Dr. DeFosse supervised hearing testing in the clinic as well as aural rehabilitation cases. He was part of the Early Headstart screening team.

Dr. DeFosse did his graduate work at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio, where he went on to serve as a member of the faculty in communication disorders for 20 years. He had a wide range of clinical experiences and had a special interest in auditory processing disorders.

When not at work, Dr. DeFosse enjoyed camping, fishing, and visiting his children and grandchildren in Ohio and Maryland. He has retired to Park City, Utah.
