Melissa
S. Passe is the Clinical Director of the Truman State Speech and Hearing Clinic.
Ms. Passe develops the clinic schedule, oversees clinic communication with
clients, supervises student clinicians, and oversees the management of the
McGuire Media Center. Ms. Passe also coordinates internship placements for
graduate students. She sponsored Truman's student organization, CoDA
(Communication Disorders Association), our local chapter of the National Student
Speech-Language-Hearing Association, for several years.
Ms. Passe served as
the 2005-06 president of the Missouri Speech-Language Hearing Association.
She has served as Vice President for Professional and Public Relations and
president-elect.
She co-chaired the program committee of the 2002 annual convention of the Missouri Speech-Language-Hearing Association, which was held in Columbia, MO, and served as volunteer coordinator for the 2003 and 2004 conventions held at Tan-tar-a. In 2007, she was chosen to participate in the first ASHA Leadership Development Program.

James Alexander "Alex" Hendler was born to Melissa Passe and her husband James Hendler on March 21, 2000 (see family photo below). In May, 2004 Adam Hendler was born and the reign of the Hendler boys (of Kirksville) began. The Hendler family also includes chocolate lab Maddie.
In her spare time, Ms. Passe enjoys writing, reading, going to the movies, traveling, and spending time with her family. Her favorite place to visit is the annual Renaissance festival held every fall just outside of Kansas City, Missouri. The Hendlers enjoy boating on Lake Ouachita in Arkansas.
