Dr.Amy Wilson joined the faculty of the Communication Disorders program at Truman in August, 2003. She left the university in the summer of 2006, to marry and move to Omaha.
Dr. Wilson came to Kirksville from West Texas A&M university, where she taught for 2 years. She earned her Bachelor of Music degree from Florida State University and practiced as a music therapist for a brief time. She then earned her doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders from the University of South Alabama. The title of her dissertation was "The Effects of Modality and Specificity of Redirection upon Topic Maintenance Skills of Persons with Dementia of the Alzheimer's Type."
