Dr. Ilene Ashbaugh

Truman welcomed Ilene Ashbaugh, Au.D., CCC-A, as a full time assistant professor in communication disorders starting fall semester, 2007.
She teaches courses in audiology, aural rehabilitation, anatomy and physiology of the speech mechanism. Dr. Ashbaugh provides clinical supervision for aural rehabilitation clients and hearing evaluations.
She obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Hofstra University, Master of Arts in
Audiology at the University of Pittsburgh and her Au.D. from Pennsylvania
College of Optometry.
Dr. Ashbaugh has worked in hospital, private practice, as well as assistive
living and nursing home settings. She has worked extensively with the pediatric
hearing impaired population. Her current main areas of interest are pediatric
hearing healthcare and vestibular evaluation and rehabilitation.
Dr. Ashbaugh and her husband (Ron) relocated to Kirksville from North
Carolina and Pennsylvania.
