
Dr. Carl DeFosse retired from Truman at the end of spring semester, 2006.
DeFosse joined the Truman faculty in communication disorders in the fall of
2001. Although dual-certified, Dr. DeFosse's primary teaching and clinical
interests and responsibilities were in the area of audiology. He taught
undergraduate and graduate courses in audiology, aural rehabilitation, anatomy,
and speech and hearing science. Dr. DeFosse supervised hearing testing in the
clinic as well as aural rehabilitation cases. He was part of the Early Headstart
screening team.
Dr. DeFosse did his graduate work at the University of Toledo in Toledo, Ohio,
where he went on to serve as a member of the faculty in communication disorders
for 20 years. He had a wide range of clinical experiences and a special interest
in auditory processing disorders.
Dr. DeFosse began serving on the University Institutional Review Board (IRB) in
fall, 2002. He was also active in ElderLynk, an interdisciplinary project
concerning geriatric health issues sponsored by the Kirksville College of
Osteopathic Medicine.
Dr. DeFosse plans to continue to enjoy camping, fishing, and visiting his
children and grandchildren in Ohio and Maryland.
Dr. DeFosse has retired to Park City, Utah.
