President Dixon and Provost Gordon tip-toed into Barnett Hall April 22, and upstairs to BT 2403 where Dr. Janet Gooch was teaching her junior level class in Articulation and Phonology. SURPRISE! She was awarded the prestigious Allen Fellowship for her outstanding contributions to the university and her work in fulfilling its mission.

The Walker and Doris Allen Fellowships for Faculty Excellence at Truman State University recognize outstanding faculty members who have greatly contributed to the success of the University and its students. These fellowships are available thanks to a generous gift from Walker and Doris Allen of Columbia, Missouri. The Fellowship provides a $10,000 award to the recipient.

Earlier this spring, Dr.Gooch received a 2008 Golden Apple Award “in recognition of outstanding dedication as an educator” from the Truman chapter of Order of Omega. At the 2008 Truman Student Research Conference, she was honored as an Outstanding Student Research Mentor. Way to go, Dr. Gooch!!
